Director of Bigadiç Vocational School

Dear Students,

Established in 2005 as an affiliate of Balıkesir University, Bigadiç Vocational School began its educational activities in 2006. Since its establishment, our vocational school, which prioritizes development, currently continues its educational activities with 7 departments and 7 programs. It aims to train qualified and well-equipped graduates needed by the business world in the following programs: Electrical Engineering, Accounting and Tax Applications, Transportation and Traffic Services, Banking and Insurance, Logistics, Surveying and Cadastre, and Physiotherapy.

As of 2025, a total of 1213 students are studying at our vocational school. Our academic staff consists of 2 professors and 15 lecturers, a significant portion of whom hold doctoral degrees. In addition, 13 administrative staff members effectively manage education, training, and support services. This human resource structure strengthens program-based specialization and a student-centered educational approach. Our vocational school has 5060 m² of indoor space and a large open campus area. The school provides adequate physical infrastructure to support applied vocational training, including classrooms, laboratories (Computer, Electrical, and Physiotherapy), a conference hall, library, student study areas, and social spaces.

An approach integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application is adopted in the education and training processes; the curriculum is continuously updated through collaboration with the sector, on-the-job vocational training (3+1 model), and advisory boards. Our mission is to educate individuals who combine theory and practice in the context of global and digital transformation, adhere to ethical values, are productive, research-oriented, and embrace lifelong learning. Our vision is to be a model vocational school that can compete at national and international levels with a sustainable education system, develops projects integrated with the business world, and contributes to regional and social development.

At Bigadiç Vocational School, governance and quality assurance processes are an integral part of the institutional culture. Decision-making processes are conducted transparently and participatively through the Directorate, the vocational school board, the management board, and program commissions. The quality management system, designed based on the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle, is supported by academic unit improvement plans, stakeholder analyses, advisory boards, and peer review reports.

Our vocational school has set strategic goals in line with its objectives of improving quality in education, developing research capacity, strengthening the entrepreneurship ecosystem, expanding social responsibility activities, and increasing institutional capacity. These goals are supported by concrete steps such as improving accreditation processes, implementing innovative teaching methods, strengthening career management services, and increasing stakeholder collaborations.

In line with the principles of informing the public and accountability, activity reports and internal evaluation reports are published regularly; student and stakeholder feedback is systematically analyzed and reflected in improvement processes.

Bigadiç Vocational School continues to educate its students not only professionally but also as individuals with a high level of ethical and social responsibility awareness, in line with its fundamental values ​​of adherence to Atatürk's principles and reforms, scientific rigor, quality, transparency, social responsibility, and merit. As an educational institution that contributes to regional development, is integrated with the sector, focuses on quality, and is constantly improving, it continues its activities with determination.
