COMPULSORY FOREIGN LANGUAGE (ENGLISH) EXEMPTION EXAM
INFORMATION NOTICE
The Compulsory Foreign Language (English) Exemption Exam will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 15:00, in face-to-face sessions at the faculties or vocational schools where students are registered.
Only students who have newly registered at our university and are taking the Foreign Language I and Foreign Language II courses for the first time are eligible to take this exam.
This right can only be used once.
Students who have transferred laterally or vertically (from another institution or program), as well as those currently studying in their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th years, are not eligible to take the exam.
Students participating in the exam must bring one of the following official identification documents with them:
National ID card, driver’s license, or passport.
The exam consists of 40 multiple-choice questions and the duration is 50 minutes.
The results of the exemption exam will be sent to the Dean's Offices of the relevant faculties or Directorates of vocational schools where students are registered.
Students can learn their results from their faculty or vocational school student affairs offices.
According to Article 17/1 of the Balıkesir University Associate and Undergraduate Education Regulation, students must score at least 60 points (grade CC) in order to be exempt from the courses coded YDI 1101 and YDI 1201.
Students who score 60 or above will be exempt from the relevant course.
By taking the exam, all students are considered to have accepted the rules and procedures of the exam.
